- Wellcome Trust - Policy on Open Access. This is a policy that requires all scholars funded by the Wellcome Trust to deposit copies of their research into a PubMed Central UK database. The policy is effective as of 1 October 2006.
- NIH Public Access Request - The United States' National Institutes of Health Public Access Request. Similar to the Wellcome Trust policy - but compliance is voluntary. See NIH instructions to authors for more information.
