[edit] Zero Carbon

Minimal energy demand and meeting all demand from renewable sources to lead to a zero net carbon event (measuring carbon from energy use only).

Providing for energy efficient appliances and fittings

  • High levels of day-lighting and use of low energy lighting if and where required
  • Energy efficient audio system (if such a thing exists)
  • Energy efficiency in preparation of food and drink on site

Renewable Energy on-site:

  • Create and use battery bank charged by electric car chargers

  • Offset through Gold Standard offset scheme

ACTIONS:

  • Estimate energy demand of event (Electricity, hot water)
  • Make plan to monitor energy use

[edit] Zero Waste

Reducing waste arising, then reclaiming, recycling, composting and recovering to lead to zero waste to landfill from this event

  • Explore eco-friendliness of different airlines
  • Make a plan to monitor travel emissions
  • Find benchmark for travel emissions to event

[edit] Local and Sustainable Materials

  • Identify sustainable materials
  • Use of reclaimed and recycled materials

[edit] Local and Sustainable Food

Consumption of local, seasonal and organic produce, with reduced amount of animal protein and packaging
